AppUp continues a huge ramp during 2011 introducing new stores for MeeGo Tablets and Smart Phones and make major improvements to its infrastructure and user experience. As the complexity keeps rising the quality assurance activities are becoming every day more difficult and critical. In this context, AppUp has a great opportunity for a Quality Assurance technical lead. This role will drive the integration testing strategy considering all the technical aspects beyond the functional requirements, will drive test automation strategy, completing test coverage in integration and leading quality improvements. We are looking for a hand on, technically competent leader, passionate about the quality of products. This position will report directly to the head of the AppUp central integration team. This role requires excellent communication skills, being an active listener and observer, plus having excellent writing communication skills. The role also requires strong results orientation, team working attitude, solid leadership and stakeholder’s management skill, and project management skills.

Qualifications

You should possess a Computer Science, Computer Engineering degree or equivalent technology with 6+ years of overall relevant experience.
-2+ years experience in system integration testing.
-2+ years experience in software testing tools (Quality Center, bug tracking systems, automation tools).
-2+ years experience in technical leader.
-5+ years experience in Windows Operating Systems.
-2+ years experience in Linux Operating Systems. Experience in Meego is a plus.
-6+ years experience working in software development holding different roles.
Desired skills include:
-Hands-on experience in working with different types of testing (some of them): functional, performance, load, security, etc.
-Hands-on experience as developer of data bases preferentially MS SQL server and MySQL.
-Familiar with Software Configuration Management practices
-Hands-on experience in Requirement Engineering
-CMMI or ISO standards knowledge
-Hand on experience coding backend systems preferentially using .Net framework and / or PHP.
-Hand on experience developing software for hand held devices.
-Hand on experience developing software using C/C++.
-Knowledge in some of the following areas: Service Oriented Architectures (SOA), Web Services, Application Servers (for example, IIS), XML related technologies (for example, XSLT, XML Schema, XML Security, and others), computer security, and performance optimization.
